Global Surveys Profiling Politicians From A-Z

MISSION

This platform is dedicated to people around the world by creating a survey template gathering relevant, independent and unbiased data, giving insights to powerful political leaders, who are shaping our society. It is free from any party alignment, government, interest group or corporate influence. Only by prioritising methodology over ideology will you be able to provide a true picture and profile of our political leaders.

BACKGROUND

This survey is the first of its kind, profiling and comparing two high-profile leaders - US President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney - facing off in a controversial trade war (and whether Canada is to become the 51st State of America or the USA is to become South Canada...)

TIMING

The timing for the survey, October 2026, is ideal with the upcoming midterms elections on Tuesday, November 3, deciding the composition of Congress.

IMPORTANCE

All 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, plus one-third of the 100 seats in the U.S. Senate, are up for a vote. A shift in balance of the partisan composition of Congress can have a major impact on the President’s power, and what Trump can do during his remaining time in office. As we have seen many times, President Trump’s power, ambitions and and decisions have far reaching consequences.

CONCEPT

This benchmark survey, and the idea of profiling political leaders from A-Z (i.e. 26 dimensions) is a new and unique way of covering all of a leaders skills, character, values, motives, attitude, behaviour and performance - as seen by the people, around the world.

COUNTRIES

A global approach is the ultimate goal, but may not be realistic. Above all, the USA and Canada are the top priorities, and you can view the rest of the world individually - or through their alliances and partnerships:

EU: 27 European Countries (excluding the UK)
NATO: USA, Canada and 30 European countries
ANZUS: Australia, New Zealand and USA
FPDA: UK, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore
QUAD: USA, Australia, India and Japan (and perhaps South Korea)
BRICS: Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (and partner countries: Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam)
ASEAN: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam

AMBITIONS

In principle, each country could carry out their own survey individually. However, to be in control of the total picture - enabling comprehensive breakdowns, cross tabulations and comparisons in all dimensions - a systematic and coordinated approach is required, and here are some key categories to consider:

TIER 1: USA and Canada
TIER 2: NATO members (32 countries)
TIER 3: NATO members - plus Mexico, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines and Israel (44 countries)

SPONSORS

There is a vast potential of sponsors - especially on the media side, including networks (ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, PBS, FOX, SKY, BBC, CBC, RAI, ABC (Australia), etc.) and printed media (New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Globe and Mail, National Post, Financial Times, The Times, The Economist, The Guardian, Borsen-Zeitung, Handelsblatt, Le Monde, El Pais, The Australian, etc.) - and in the end it will be their interests and budgets that will determine the format of the survey(s).

MARKET RESEARCHERS

Among the various, experienced and recognised market research companies capable of carrying out professional, independent survey(s) at this scale a few candidates stand out:

Gallup - GfK & NielsenIQ - IPSOS - YouGov

These are all being approached for initial consultations in preparation of development of final survey design, number of respondents, quote and timeframe. But no real work can take place before we have an idea of the budget and selected countries from interested sponsors.

COORDINATION

Although the company in charge will be in full control and take full responsibility for the survey, all survey activities (including any deviation from the original script) must be coordinated and approved by the author and copyright owner to ensure compliance and uniform standards and - above all - prevent overlapping and infringement of exclusive rights agreements with other parties.

ORIGIN

Interestingly, this survey was never politically motivated or some kind of business idea. Quite the contrary; it came to life autonomously, out of curiosity, beginning with an attempt to paint a picture of Donald Trump - and completed when Mark Carney made his presence known. However, there is always room for improvement, so comments and suggestions are welcome.
